Norwegian pop superstar Tone Damli returned earlier this week with a brand new single, following on from the summer’s ‘Winner Of A Losing Game‘. It’s the very different from ‘Winner Of A Losing Game’ (and anything else she’s ever released, for that matter), ‘Perfect World’.
A genre defying, tri-sound straddling monster of a track that distorts and disfunctions as if to accentuate the fact that Tone is trilling of a perfect world that she desires, rather than already has. And a perfect world that in any case comes crashing down via the sound of hyper drums and kitchen sink synths as the song draws to a close.
It’s a noisy and boisterous old lark of a pop song. We’re enjoying this new, experimental tone…..from Tone.
‘Perfect World’ is written and produced by Rodney Jerkins (yes, him!) and Andre Lindal. It’s out now across Scandinavia.
