Last night’s Så Mycket Bättre was the September episode! Which meant that we got to see all of the other artists perform their own unique take of one of her many hits. We were quite looking forward to it, as she’s had some corking tunes that we’ve treasured over the last half a decade. And of course, it’s always very interesting to hear new versions of a song you like. Although what we hadn’t realised was that whilst it might always be interesting – that might not always be a positive interesting! Some of the covers worked really well and we enjoyed them a lot (‘Because I Love You’, ‘Cry For You’, ‘La La La (Never Give It Up)’), but some of them were altered almost beyond recognition – and we didn’t enjoy those so much (‘Looking For Love’, ‘Satellites’). But then that’s only because we love the originals so much.
Nevertheless, the Swedes were mightily impressed – and all of the original September versions of the songs performed last night have been snapped up enough for them all to be featured in the Swedish iTunes top 100 this morning. And all this while her new single ‘Resuscitate Me’ is at number 11, and her cover of ‘Mikrofonkåt’ is STILL at number 1 after ten days there!
Below you can watch the performances, plus see September duetting with Lill Babs on ‘Looking For Love’. Plus, in brackets, we’ve included their position on the iTunes top 100, at the time of writing.
