Semi-legendary Norwegian dance act, Reset, are back with a brand new tune – ’One Love’.
They never quite made it very big internationally, but achieved a respectable amount of success in their native Norway in the late 90’s and early 00’s with their first two albums, ‘Play’ and ‘Calling You’. And their return is certainly momentous enough to warrant some excitement – in our little corner of the internet at least!
‘One Love’ isn’t as frantic as the high turbo dance that they peddled a decade ago. It’s still dance music, but more chilled out and rhythmic. It’s big on the strings, disco strings at that. And this time around, the song only contains female vocals which are sung – there’s no cringeworthy male rapping involved.
We like it! Quite a lot. Christ knows where they’re gonna fit in today’s pop landscape, but we’re very glad that they’re attempting a comeback anyway. We sort of associate their old sound as a cross between E-Type and Da Buzz. And so with both of those artists making a return to pop in 2011, we guess it makes sense that Reset join them!
