Remember late last year when we wrote about Lisette Vares, the Swedish dance diva and lady behind the genius ‘What A Night’? Well on top of writing and recording for her own solo career, she’s also part of a new girlband called eXposed! They released their first single, ‘Take Me Away’ in April this year in their native Sweden. And it sounds a lot like the music that Lisette has made on her own, so naturally we rather like it. A lot! It was written by Tomas Skydleberg who also composed the brilliant ‘All About Me’ by Jenny Bliss and has been writing for Danny recently.
It’s nothing ground breaking, it’s not pushing any envelopes, and it’s certainly not trying to pretend to be anything other than pop/dance. And that’s exactly why we like it. Commercial trance combined with harmonised, female vocalled melodies – it is what it is. Imagine Caracola and Cosmo 4 have gone clubbing – well that’s what eXposed sound like! In fact, hopefully it won’t be too long (10 months!) before we see eXposed at Melodifestivalen.
As well as Lisette, eXposed is made up of Matilda Adolfsson – a former contestant on Idol, and Ida Sundelius – who appeared on Fame Factory. eXposed debuted ‘Take Me Away’ at a Turkish song contest, as special guests, late last year. Here’s the performance below;
