This year’s series of Swedish Idol is fast approaching its live show stages, but already one of the 2011 contest’s casualties has picked herself up and unleashed her first single.
Melanie Wehbe got into the final 30 singers, out of 12,000 applicants. But on Friday’s show, she left the competition as the top 20 were chosen and she was not one of them. She was sent home with the reasoning that she “doesn’t have the right look for an artist in 2011“. This week however, she releases her debut single and its video – ‘Irresisitible’.
The song is a Katy Perry flavoured pop/rock track. Hugely catchy and with a shouty chorus that’s pleasingly easy to chant along with. It only takes one listen!
