Kat Stephie Meltdown front cover e1414062864663

Danish popstrel Kat Stephie (she used to be in girlband Sukkerchok, but that was ages ago – and she’s released some quality solo stuff since then) is back this month with a new one. Her latest foray into the more POP side of electropop is ‘Meltdown’.

‘Meltdown’! You get what you expect from that title, thankfully. A sonic spazz-out of synth, electric guitar, vocoder, and a whole arsenal of beats, booms, and blips. A pounding headfuck that finishes of its own accord, that little bit sooner than you’d like. It’s good to see that being a Danish TV personality (she’s been in everything from Splash to Masterchef) hasn’t gotten in the way of her continuing to be a popstar. She does the whole popstar thing in a way that’s right up our street, after all.

The track was co-written and produced by Andi Meid, who has also been behind songs by Black Eyed Peas, Cheryl Cole, and Kelis on her ‘Fleshtone’ album.

‘Meltdown’ is out now on Spotify, iTunes etc etc etc. Although if you don’t have Spotify or it’s not available in your country, Kat is allowing Scandipop readers to stream it below. Cheers Kat!
