We really do think it a good idea that you get yourself acquainted with Zara Larsson. This young lady has a stronger chance than most of being the next big pop thing to come out of Sweden in 2013.
16 year old Zara won the TV show Talang when she was just 10 years old – that’s the Swedish version of Britain’s Got Talent/America’s Got Talent. Mercifully though, she’s waited until she’s a little bit more mature, and has honed her aforementioned ‘talang’, before commencing life as a pop star. Now though, that time has finally come.
In January she will release her debut EP, helpfully titled ‘Introducing’. And this week, she went public with the first taste of her music and her sound. She uploaded the song ‘Uncover’, that will feature on the forthcoming EP. A recording of her – well, recording it. It’s a great big pop ballad, with great big pop vocals. A gorgeous track on which she sounds stunning. And as for that voice, well it’s a little bit like Rihanna – minus the annoying nuances.
It’s a quite brilliant. And very beautiful. And despite it just being a small glimpse of what’s to come from her, it does exude a tremendous amount of excitement and promise of what’s to come. We’re going to be watching this one’s output over the next 12 months like a hawk.
