Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Moscow tonight. Below are the images from the first dress rehearsal of Sweden, Iceland, and Finland. Aren’t they pretty?!!! Norway and Denmark rehearse tomorrow.
Sweden: Malena Ernman – ‘La Voix’
Poor Malena. Nobody over here in Moscow rates her chances of qualifying for the final! Why not? It’s the best song in this semi, her stage show is perfect, and it’s all you’d want in a Eurovision song. But most of the fans, press, and bookies at Eurovision are leaving them out of their lists of their ten predicted qualifiers. Hopefully that’s just down to them not wanting to tempt fate or raise their hopes too high. The final on Saturday would be lacking without ‘La Voix’. Put this woman through!…
Iceland: Yohanna – ‘Is It True’
Yohanna on the other hand appears to be EVERYONE’s first choice for progression from this semi final. There’s no disagreements about either the song or the performance. Both are extremely popular and everyone is in love with Yohanna herself. How could you not be?……
Finland: Waldo’s People – ‘Lose Control’
Everyone seems to have a bit of a soft spot for this one too. It’s one of the favourites in the clubs, and we’ve yet to read or hear any negative comments about it. As for qualification to the final….well, some people have it in their predictions, others leave it out. It seems pretty 50/50. The performance is lots of fun – girls in short dresses, loaded with attitude and backed by Fire!
