What’s this? The debut EP from Swedish artist Lilly Ahlberg. ‘Call Me’.
What’s on it? Three previously released singles (‘Moonlight’, ‘Naked’ and ‘Hurting’) plus three brand-new tracks.
What are the highlights? Bizzarely, the real stars of the collection come not in the form of the singles, but the three brand-new songs. In particular, the title track ‘Call Me’ is some top-tier pop – well-written storytelling that any of the biggest acts in the world right now would be excited to release as the lead single from their next album. Our personal fave, however, is ‘Why Do I Miss You’ – super-catchy synthpop that’s bubbling away with purposefully subdued drama.
What does Lilly say? “I’m so excited to finally be releasing my first EP! It is a collection of songs that I’ve written over my first few years of living in London. They represent my highs and lows of falling in love and finding myself through adolescence to adulthood.”
