Reasons dansband is amazing: Part 256
Swedish dansband Drifters have recorded a cover version of a Eurovision 2010 song for their new album ‘Stanna Hos Mig’. Not that out of the ordinary, since Scotts did the same earlier in the year when they released their album with a cover of ‘In A Moment Like This’, the Danish entry. What IS out of the ordinary though (in a very good way) is the song that Drifters have chosen to record.
The winning German song?…….No.
The heavily Swedish influenced Norwegian or Irish songs?……No.
The popular Turkish song?……….No.
The ridiculous and comedy schlager Dutch song that failed to qualify?……..YES!
Brilliant, just brilliant. And they’ve re-recorded it with Swedish lyrics.
That’s our listening for the morning sorted. It’s addictive. Can Thorleifs do ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ next please?!
