This summer, the Disney Channel in Sweden is broadcasting a new show that has the most pop friendly line up of artists this side of CD:UK! It’s called Hannah Montana Spotlight and is a musical entertainment show slash talk show. As the title suggests, it’ll be focusing on all things Hannah Montana, and also on other Disney tv shows and projects. But what interests us is that they’ve also roped in an excellent array of musical guests who’ll be performing songs each week. So far, they’ve secured performances from Eric Saade, Amy Diamond, Molly Sanden, and Danish X Factor’s Muhamed Ali. Plus, they’ve got Marie Serneholt and Anna Book as talk show guests. We’re also looking forward to what’s going to be the proper artist debuts of both Hilda Stenmalm and Vendela Palmgren on the show. They’re both from the same Disney stable of acts as Eric Saade, but like Eric, this year they’re progressing from Disney to becoming actual recording artists, and both release their official debut singles this year. We wrote about Vendela earlier this year, and we’ve found out that Hilda will be working on her music with the same guys behind Eric Saade’s debut album. So we’ll be very interested to see and hear the girls’ official launches on the show (although we’re not actually sure if they’ll be debuting their singles).
On top of their guests, we’re also getting quite into the theme tune of the show. It’s recorded by the show’s host Felicia Armstrong (pictured above, who we’re fully expecting to be the next Disney music graduate, after Eric, Vendela and Hilda), and is a suitably poptastic effort. You can hear bits of the original version in the first clip below, but in the second clip you can hear a full dance remix of it. Isn’t it great to see a children’s tv show be so pop heavy?!
