Dansbandskampen 2010 ended on a huge high on Saturday night, when the schlagertastic new dansband, Elisa’s, walked away as the series winners. Runners up, Willez, had actually been the band that most thought would win, since they appeared to have the bigger fanbase, and seemingly an army of televoting teenage girls at that. But the right band won in the end, and Elisa’s did it with 61% of the vote.
We’re actually really really looking forward to hearing their first album, which they’ll no doubt start making soon for a 2011 release. They seem like they’re firmly rooted on the correct side of the dansband genre – modern schlager, as opposed to old fashioned country music. For now though, they’ll release the Dansbandskampen winner’s single, ‘För Det Här är Bara Början’ You can watch them perform that below. And below that, are the two performances from this series that made us fall in love with Elisa’s the most; the original total schlager-fest composition that was ‘När Jag Vaknar är Jag Hos Dig’, and their cover of Charlotte Nilsson’s ‘Tussen Och En Natt’.
And of course, also in this series, it’s been CC & Lee that have been fantastic entertainment. They finished third on Saturday night’s final, and will release their second album next year, which they’ve already started working on. Below are our two favourite performances from them this season; the original composition ‘Hela Havet Stormar’, and their cover of Kikki, Bettan, & Lotta’s ‘Vem é Dé Du Vill Ha’. Pure schlager bliss, both of them!
