Daniela is back with a new single! The Swedish dance delight has already given us some great dance pop tunage with the likes of ‘Back On Track’, ‘You & I’, ‘Push It Up’, and an electro cover of ‘Chain Reaction’. So new music from her will always be warmly welcomed. And new music we’re getting! In the coming weeks, new single ‘Fire’ will be sent to Swedish radio – and if Swedish radio has any sense, put on heavy rotation! ‘Fire’ is Daniela’s best song yet. We were sent it last week, have allowed ourselves a few days to live with it so as not to make a premature assessment, and so yes – we can confidently (and happily!) say that it’s her best yet!
Written by Niclas Kings (every amazing Kate Ryan song ever made) and Virginia Blackmore, the single edit has been remixed by the perennially brilliant UK production duo, Buzz Junkies. And so as you would expect from a collaboration between Mr Kings and The Junkie Gents, it’s an incredibly fast paced gauntlet of synth punch after beat blast. In fact the only time any respite is given, is during the fab middle eight when the song drops out as if coming to a fading close – then comes back stronger than ever for the last minute. It’s totally unrelenting, and we love it for that.
Normally with dance tracks that have been tailored with a pop heart, all we’re really concerned about is the music and the melody. Meaningful lyrics in songs like these are few and far between. But this song actually has the added bonus of lyrics that we love too! It’s all about Daniela teasing her no good lover that if he dares to do her wrong, she’ll have no problem with getting rid of him, as in fact – she’s really not that into him anyway. He’ll never be able to break her heart, as neither him nor his love are ‘’on fire’’! And she delivers said lyrics with a delicious portion of upper hand arrogance. An enjoyable dimension to an already great song.
