What’s this? Hot on the heels of her latest single ‘Raw‘, Norwegian artist Sigrid has unveiled the next song to be taken from her forthcoming ‘Raw’ EP. ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’.
What does Sigrid say? Speaking to Beats 1, she said about ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’; “Real excited about releasing this song. It’s definitely different than what I’ve been releasing before, but I think this one shows even more what type of music that I love. I was working with Jamie Hartman and Bergen, so yeah, it was very fun. It was the first time [Jamie] was there in the studio, but it was still the studio I’ve been working a lot in. But it’s basically just us playing around with the piano, and that’s always how I write it. I look at this song and say, I don’t know, it’s kind of an homage to growing up and all the good sides of it and the bad sides of it, and you know that whole thing with growing up and figuring out things, so it was really nice writing about it.”
What does Scandipop say? It’s a soft and stark ballad. but within that sparse soundscape, it still manages to exude a hell of a lot of warmth. And therein lies just one of Sigrid’s many talents and charms as an artist.
Written by? Sigrid and Jamie Hartman, and produced by Stuart Crichton and Jamie Hartman.
