Swedish newcomer Skott follows up a super successful 2017 with her first release of 2018. And it’s not just a new single – it’s a whole new EP. ‘Stay Off My Mind’ is the four track affair. There’s not a dud amongst them, and each of them manage to showcase a different variation of Skott’s endearing style and sound. Though the highlight has to be the title track (which also serves as the lead single – the music video for which came out yesterday, and which you can watch below). It samples ‘Young Folks’ by Peter, Bjorn & John – whom she works with quite a bit. And as a result, it’s by far the most jovial we’ve heard her sound so far – despite the fact that the song was written about trying to stop thinking about and missing a loved one who had passed. It’s one of her best songs to date. Though we’ve also developed an early soft spot for ‘Russian Soul’.
