What’s this? The brand-new single from Swedish artist Linae. This is ‘Stuck In The Rain’, which she performed live for the first time at the weekend’s Sommarkrysset.
What’s it like? It’s an interpolation of Spandau Ballet’s ‘True’. However, she’s quite masterfully turned the 80s synthpop ballad into a modern r&b love song. Regardless of how well you know or love the original, ‘Stuck In The Rain’ manages to sound very fresh.
What does Linae say? “I’m feeling emotional so I’m going in: this was the first song me and Luki wrote together, so it’s a special one for me. Thanks to Gary Kemp for making timeless music and for letting us interpolate ‘True’ on this one.”
Written by? Linae and Luki, plus, of course, Gary Kemp!
More from Linae? This ain’t the first time she’s gone back to yesteryear for inspiration. Check out her update of Maxwell’s ‘Ascension’, on ‘Don’t Ever Wonder‘.
