‘Twas the night of Danny Saucedo and Carola – two scandipop faves!
Danny performed his usual summer double act of ‘Tonight’ and ‘In The Club’. Although this time, with a difference, for the sake of variation and to spice things up a tad for viewers and fans. For ‘Tonight’ he was joined by his collaborator on the track, The Provider (a handsome chap himself, and another double act we wouldn’t have minded seeing more of this summer!). And for ‘In The Club’, he began the song in acoustic form, before launching into the regular club edit we all know and love.
Carola’s appearance on the show brought with it something of a tribute to the great lady. Sommarkrysset had asked some of the season’s guest artists to speak about her and sing one of their favourite Carola tracks, and acts like Martin Stenmarck, Jessica Andersson, Caroline Af Ugglas, Sanna Nielsen, and The Moniker all contributed, and you can see it here.
As for the lady herself, she performed a suitably MENTAL rendition of ‘No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)’. For the most part it was your standard fabulous disco number, but it had this superb yet bizarre intro which saw Carola walk through Grona Lund followed by hoards of people. And so like a pied piper of pop, she marched through the crowd, literally nicking candy floss from a youngster, before bounding onto the stage. And at the end of the performance, she was joined on stage by more youth – like a somewhat over zealous chaperone at a school disco. And all this while looking amazing in leopard print and tussled hair. Brilliant!
