We’d been a bit worried recently about our absolute number one favourite scandipop diva, Velvet. Thankfully she’s still been putting out music; the fantastic duet with Linda Bengtzing, the featured appearance on the UK release of BWO’s ‘Right Here Right Now’, and the brand new version of the final single from her most recent album, ‘My Destiny’. But we were a little concerned about what was to happen next. The Linda Bengtzing and BWO duets were just her featuring on other people’s records. And the last single did feel like a bit of a swan song for the grossly underperforming album that was ‘The Queen’. Despite it being one of the greatest scandipop albums of all time, it just didn’t sell for some unfathomable reason. And with that being her second album to tank without a trace, we we starting to doubt that we’d ever get a third album from her.
WE WERE WRONG TO DOUBT!
Her Swedish record label confirmed to us today that she is still very much signed to them. Not only that, but she’s expected to go into the studio to record some new music this summer, and they would love to have a new single from her out in as early as August!
