Norwegian starlet Marion Raven has made her long awaited return to music and unleashed new single ‘Flesh And Bone’. It’s difficult to introduce her to those who aren’t aware of her. She’s a former child star (check out ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ by M2M), but still very young. And she’s a music veteran (check out her mid noughties hit ‘Here I Am’), but still only in the early stages of her career. Either way, she’s about to embark on what will probably be one of the most interesting stages of said career – she’s left the land of the major record labels and is doing it independently.
Thankfully though, she hasn’t gone down the predictable route of the former poppet going indie. ‘Flesh And Bone’ is very pop, which we like. It’s catchy on the first listen, and verging on addictive on second listen. It’s got a brilliantly ballsy chorus, an irresistably memorable repetitive bit after each chorus, and a middle eight that has two parts – both masterpieces. Oh my word, we’re in love!
In all honesty we didn’t realise we’d even missed her. But boy is it good to have her back.
