Former Alphabeat frontwoman Stine Bramsen has this week released her third solo single. And after debuting in January with the up-tempo bop-a-long ‘Prototypical’, she’s winding things down in time for Christmas with new one ‘The Day You Leave Me’.
What’s surprising about this is the style of ballad she’s gone for. We were expecting Stine’s first ballad to be a singer/songwriter SLASH guitar ballad type affair – because we subconsciously like to put people in boxes like that. But no, she’s actually turned in a moody electroballad. One that’s stunningly produced and rewards repeated listens with new nuances to discover each time. It’s a lot darker than we were expecting from her. But we love it. And there’s STRINGS AHOY!
‘The Day You Leave Me’ was written by Stine herself along with Nicolaj Rasted. And produced by Andreas Sommer AKA Maskinen.
