Hot new Swedish dancepop production duo alert. Hot in that they make good music, and hot in that it’s a little bit filthy too. Hot.
Meet Soundstreamers, and more specifically their debut single ‘Like It Like That’.
Soundstreamers are Linda Sonnvik and Christian Oscarsson. A meticulous pair of perfectionists who painstakingly went over ‘Like It Like That’ over and over again, to make sure that everything sounded just right before its, and their, big launch. It shows. Listen to this on good speakers and out loud – you will be rewarded with a sharp production that contains layers of electronic intricacies, each of which are a joy to have booming out. The filth isn’t just in the lyrics, they’ve sort of made the music and the bassline a bit dirty too.
The vocalist on board is Daisy, whom some of you may remember from her genre defying, Scandipop Award winning smash ‘Everytime’. We adored that song, and we’ve been mourning the fact that she’s been absent from pop music ever since. So that’s another reason to love this Soundstreamers crowd – not only do they appear to be quite competent in making very good songs, but they also get it right when it comes to knowing who should sing them, bringing back one of our favourite one hit wonders of yesteryear in the process.
