That’s quite the line-up! It is. The biggest artist in the world right now has once again looked to Sweden for people to work with, and ended up with some of the greatest in their field. And so The Weeknd goes from releasing songs with Max Martin, to now pairing up with dance music titans Swedish House Mafia. This is their new single and video ‘Moth To A Flame’.
What’s it like? Abel always puts his very own stamp on any song he’s involved in, thanks to that initimable style and vocal with which he sings – so in that sense it sounds like a logical continuation to the string of global hits he’s enjoyed recently. But the influence of Swedish House Mafia can be felt all through the track, via the dark soundscape they’ve draped over it, as they pound invigorating energy into it from behind. It’s a new classic for both parties.
