Who is Sherpa?! A Danish popstar chap. This is his new single, ‘Broken’.
What’s it like? An emotionally fraught electropop track with a militant production that chugs along throughout until it reaches a climactic fade out.
Best bit? What you assume is going to be the middle eight, in which Sherpa repeats his declaration that he’s broken to pieces. What follows isn’t a final chorus though, but rather a minute or so of an instrumental fade out which is sort of triumphant in its obvious acceptance of the lyric, but yet somewhat defeated by it too. It’s very good.
Written by? Sherpa himself, and produced by Tore Nissen. Tore Nissen also produced the latest album by Oh Land, and the sublime ‘Undiscovered’ by Emilie Esther, which we wrote about last week.
