What’s this? The latest single from Swedish trio RABBII – Johanna Berglund, Felix Persson and Mats Jönsson. It’s called ‘Slow Dance’. “You wanna rave, but I need a slow dance”.
What do RABBII say? ”Slow Dance is about the need to feel needed and loved. The hope that you wouldn’t need the cool parties, the right people, that you would loose your FOMO and we would have at least one moment together that was real and true. I lived that dream a thousand times in my head, but in reality, you’d leave me. Every single time.”
What does Scandipop? We’ve found RABBII to be very hit or miss in terms of how well their songs appeal to us, or don’t. But what we’ve also found, is that when they hit, it’s normally with this kind of sound. One which they’ve mastered and, whether consciously or not, are really making their own. It’s a sort of futuristic, dystopian and desolate balladry, set to an electronic soundscape. And we are loving it.
That sounds excellent – more highlights please? See also ‘Majestic‘ and ‘Left For Dead‘. And this new one;

You can find ‘Slow Dance’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
