Mørland? Mørland! The handsome chap who represented Norway at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the brilliant ballad ‘A Monster Like Me’, alongside Debrah Scarlett. Now he returns with the follow up single, released today. ‘No Firewall’.
What does Mørland say about the song? “The song is inspired by a close friend of mine and is about starting from square one after ending a relationship. Suddenly you’re all alone, without the safe environment you’re used to. You don’t know where the road leads next. It’s exciting and scary at the same time“.
What does Scandipop say about the song? A pretty epic and uplifting semi-ballad with an ever present 80s synth backing it all the way through. Things get pretty interesting for the middle eight – or rather, what appear to be THREE different middle eights (each as enjoyable as they are different). And the final chorus is a triumphant and explosive ending. It’s a keeper, this one.
Written by? By the one and only Kjetil Mørland all by himself.
