It’s been too long. It really has. But Linda Sundblad returns triumphantly today with a brand new single, coinciding with her time on the En Resa För Livet TV show. It’s a charity single that’s been released worldwide, and proceeds will go towards the children’s charity SOS Barnbyar.
We’re ALL for philanthropy but is it actually a good song too?! It’s extremely good. It’s not really the sound of Linda Sundblad doing a one-off charity song. It’s very much a continuation of and progression from the sound we got on her last EP. Uplifting and melodic synth pop with an absolute blinder of a production. So many Swedish artists are doing synth pop, but Linda Sundblad genuinely does it in her own way these days – you’re not going to hear this sort of thing anywhere else.
What’s it all about? “Ljusa Tårar describes my frustration over how the world looks and feels. I will never give up on a better world. I think that when one accepts the planet as it is, when you really accept and reconcile with it, then we can make a difference. Mourn, but to do it with a loving force. When I’m too caught up in dark thoughts and feelings I become disarmed, but if I keep it bright and positive, I can instead act”. Read Linda’s full thoughts (in Swedish) over on her blog.
Best bit? The first post-chorus and the second chorus are the instant highlights. They’re quite WOW. The outro is also incredibly sweet too.
