OMG is this her Eurovision song for Norway? Erm…no. This is her new single, ‘Hurricane’, which comes out on February 9th. All in the lead up to her new album ‘Apocalypse Pop’, from which we’ve already had the sublime ‘Look What You’ve Done’ last year.
So what’s happening with Eurovision then? She’ll compete to represent her native Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest with a brand new song, ‘Human Beings’. And we’ll be hearing that at some point in the next month or so.
Ok, back to ‘Hurricane’. It’s a collaboration with Pandora Drive, and it premiered today over on Noisy. It’s a down-tempo and moody affair, with a spellbinding production and a downplayed, nonchalant vocal.
And what does Karin say about the collaboration? “Thomas Knights and Nick Sheldon [a.k.a. Pandora Drive] were making music next door almost every night while I stayed in London. One night when I was in my room, I heard their music through the wall and could hear the melody in my head. I walked straight into their room while singing it and Thomas recorded the whole thing on his phone. That’s how it started.”
