What’s this? Danish duo Infernal are back with a new single. A cover of the ’80s classic from Sandra, ‘Maria Magdalena’.
Infernal + ’80s classic is quite the winning formula, yes? Oh most definitely.
And have we got another winner? We have! Although the two covers aren’t really comparable. Whereas ‘Self Control’ was straight-up pop, their re-imagining of ‘Maria Magdalena’ is a darker affair, shrouded under a sonic cloak of atmospheric electronica. They’ve done something quite magical to the song.
