The new single? After debuting at the end of last year with ‘Aliens‘, today Norway’s Ina Wroldsen follows it up with new single ‘Rebels’. It was premiered today on P3 Radio in Norway.
What’s it like? Like ‘Aliens’, the new single features a production that’s as out-there as it is in-your-face. This time around though, it’s a fucked-up-fairytale style that’s going on here. A gothic cinema experience soundtracked by a sugar coated version of third album era Björk synths. The melody continues the cinematic theme with an old-fashioned trill that’s almost nursery rhyme-esque. It’s an enchanting listen. Fucked up – but rebelliously so. Which is the point we guess.
What else has Ina been up to? Well she’s recently been number 1 in the UK – with ‘Hold My Hand’ which she wrote for Jess Glynne. She’s also been drafted in by Sony Music to write for Fleur East’s debut album – which is as major as you can get in UK pop in 2015, we’d say.
