What’s THIS? Swedish sisters First Aid Kit have taken a break from promoting their new ‘Stay Gold’ album, to record a cover version of REM’s ‘Walk Unafraid’.
Any particular reason? It’s for the soundtrack for the new film Wild, starring Reese Witherspoon. The soundtrack has been getting a bit of attention, with Portishead, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen also featuring.
How does it compare to the original? It improves on it as far as we’re concerned! It’s been given the full First Aid Kit treatment, with a gorgeous production that makes it sound like an original of theirs.
And what else are the girls up to? They’ve just released a video for their new album’s title track, ‘Stay Gold’.
