Finnish broadcaster YLE have already revealed the 7 artists who will be competing in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2023 – Finland’s Eurovision pre-selection which will take place on Saturday February 25th. The songs will be released one every day, for seven days, and today’s entry is is Benjamin – ‘Hoida Mut’.
We’ve been big fans of the music of Benjamin Peltonen for some time now, since his debut in 2014. But last year’s double-whammy of ‘N-Y-T‘ and ‘GAY‘ were new highs for him. Absolute bangers, the pair of them. And they’ve clearly set the tone for where he’s going with his music – ‘Hoida Mut’ takes his recent disco-camp leanings and sends them on a turbo-accelerated trip back to the ’80s. All while giving us Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy in the video.
