Swedish pop legends Army of Lovers are out with their first new music in ten years. And how Army of Lovers of them to mark such a big anniversary by ending the streak. New album ‘Sexodus’ drops on November 24th. And every track from the album will be released one-per-week from now until then. First up is ‘Love Is Blue’ featuring Olya Polyakova. Produced by Swedish pop genius Anders Hansson, it’s a song that rallies up everyone’s favourite Scandipop tropes of yesteryear and ceremoniously parades them out for us to enjoy once more. And oh how we’ve missed them! ABBA piano is homaged, the schlager genre is haemorrhaged, and the classic Army of Lovers lyrical style is parodied mercilessly. It ends up being a thoroughly enjoyable listen – and an essential one for anyone who’s ever had even a passing interest in the more ludicrous side of Scandinavian pop music at any point over the past three decades.
