What’s this? A rather delightful new bop that’s brought not only Anna Sahlene back into our lives, but actual joy too. ‘Filmen Om Vårt Liv’.
What’s it like? It’s a parody of schlager music. No, it literally is though. Commisioned by SVT to be used in an advert to promote the variety of content on their streaming site SVT Play. It was aired before Saturday night’s Melodifestivalen with the tag-line: “Tired of Mello? Choose from over 1,000 other programmes”.
And did we get a good song out of it? We did! A camp, self-referential anthem that exudes classic schlager, classic dansband, and indeed, classic Melodifestivalen.
