This week’s Allsång På Skansen had something of a gay Pride theme, given the current festivities taking place in Stockholm.
Schlager was the order of the day, winning us over right away. Host Måns Zelmerlöw did a performance of ‘Cara Mia’, replicating his Melodifestivalen performance, down to full choreography and even the same suit. Babsan brought us ‘Ge Mig En Spanjor’ and a Swedish language version of ‘I Am What I Am’ – ‘Jag Är Som Jag Är’, in THE most amazing outfit. And there are few things that warm our heart more than a drag queen lording over entertainment proceedings at a family show.
A highlight though, was Fredrik Kempe launching into a medley of some of the recent Melodifestivalen entries that he’s written – Eric Saade’s ‘Manboy’, Charlotte Perrelli’s ‘Hero’, Måns Zelmerlöw’s ‘Hope & Glory’, Sarah Dawn Finer’s ‘Moving On’, Malena Ernman’s ‘La Voix’, and Eric Saade’s ‘Popular’.
