It’s about time for a new single from the former diving belle herself, Sibel!
We’ve very much enjoyed her musical output post-‘The Diving Belle’ album. It started with ‘Stop’ (ironically!), continued with her Lazee collaboration ‘The Fall’, and really comes into its own for her current single ‘Wake Up’. It takes with it the new electro pop sound that she’s been crafting for herself since ‘Stop’, but this time adds some guitars to the mix to give it a pop/rock feel. An electro/pop/rock feel! The verses favour the production over the melody, with her vocals taking on an almost monotone quality. But this is pop music, and so OF COURSE everything kicks off when the chorus arrives! And what a chorus it is. It packs a punch, and it’s a catchy little number that definitely wants to bury itself in some heads. And we think it’ll succeed. It certainly has with our anyway.
“wake Wake WAKE WAKE UP” she demands!
