Sarek are BACK with a brand new single. It’s been over three years since their last album, but they’re all ready to return with a new one.
If you’ve not heard of them before, think of them as an adult contemporary Timoteij. In fact you may remember last year there was a mild controversy surrounding Timoteij’s ‘Kom’ in Melodifestivalen, as some said that it bore a much too familiar resemblance to Sarek’s old hit, ‘Vinterland’. Big Melodifestivalen fans will already have been well aware of Sarek though, as they themselves competed in the contest, back in 2003 with ‘Genom Eld Och Vatten’.
The new single is ‘Om Du Tvekar’. Gone are the big ethnic drums though (for this song at least), and in their place is a much calmer, more mature sounding ballad. It’s all still their trademark celtic fairytale folk sound however, and they’ve also kept in their remarkable knack for a catchy melody. It’s ridiculously pretty, and we freely admit that we’re a sucker for this kind of thing!
