Sanne Salomonsen (“you may remember her from such Melodifestivalens as 2005!”) is back with a brand new single which has just been released in her native Denmark. Following up 2009’s successful ‘Unico’ album, she’s unleashed ‘Dæmoner’ as the first track from her next opus.
It’s a catchy, up-tempo number (hooray!). Its heart is telling it to be a rock number, but its head wants it to have a guaranteed place on 2011’s dancefloors, and so it’s got a definite clubby feel to it. As a result of such pandering to two different genres, it’s got riffs, synths, and beats all over the shop. But a mess it ain’t. Well, maybe a hot one! We love it for it though. It’s a balls out, anthem of a number – and the fact that it’s being blasted out by a 56 year old woman, just adds to its appeal.
Here you can have a listen to the song in full, and take a look at Sanne’s performance of it on Danish TV last week. It’s got clear shades of Paulina Rubio proudly discovering the missing link between Anna Vissi and Nanne Grönvall!
