Here’s an interesting, intriguing, and altogether entertaining new pop find from Norway. ‘The Well (We Will Change It All)’ by Sandra Kolstad.
It’s quite something, this! The production seems nuts and all over the place, but still manages to convey absolute certainty in the sound it’s presenting to us. It’s a concentrated chaos, a studied set of intricacies. We’ve got an 80s synth verse, a 90s dance chorus, and a modern day kitchen sink thrown into the production. And all the while Sandra is audibly reveling in the complete head-fuck of a sound that she’s peddling. It’s half bonkers, and half brill. And let’s leave it at that.
