Some box fresh new electro music from Sweden now!
Meet Frederick Rundqvist and Mikael Mattisson from Stockholm. They met each other at school just over a year ago, formed their music outfit Sameblod in February last year, and after 10 months of beavering away in the studio, they finally released their debut single ‘Loud’ last week.
The production on it is something quite incredible – accentuated by the luxurious 49 second intro it gets given. Like ear candy set out as a honey-trap to lure you in, said intro captivates and ensures that you stay for the almost 5 minute duration of the song. Not that we put up a fight or anything. In truth, the vocals weren’t exactly to our taste upon the first listen, but the production is so lush, one ceases to care. And besides – once you go back for the second listen, which we inevitably did straight away, the whole thing makes even more sense – alternative vocals included.
It’s ‘Loud’. And so it should be;
