The first single to be taken from the mini album that these two are releasing together NEXT WEEK! It’s ‘Do It Again’, by Röyksopp & Robyn.
‘Do It Again’ (and the rest of the ‘Do It Again’ EP) leaked all over the internet last week thanks to an over zealous digital retailer. But the song got its official radio premiere on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show on Friday night, and so now it’s also got a YouTube stream which isn’t being ripped down within minutes.
Oh God, where do we begin here?! Well personally, what we love about it most is the fact that it’s a song which builds and builds AND BUILDS into a climatic finish. It just keeps on getting more and more euphoric as the seconds go by, until the music drops out at the 3:41 mark, Robyn blurts out an unaccompanied “do it again”, and then the song erupts into a spectacular sonic display of heightened jubilation. And then once the final chorus has its way, the song closes on another minute or so of the instrumental not quite ready to come down from that high just yet. Absolutely brilliant.
