Earlier today, Robyn appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge show, to sing her current UK single, ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ and a mystery cover version – which was, as you might have guessed by the title of this article, Coldplay’s ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’.
Robyn’s got a history of wowing when it comes to Live Lounge appearances. Last year’s show where she did ‘Dancing On My Own’ and Alicia Keys’ ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ was voted by Radio 1 listeners as the best Live Lounge of 2010. And today’s show was another winner – thanks largely to the blindingly obvious match of Robyn and the beautiful ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’. It was perfect for her. She did the song justice, and the song showcased that incredibly emotional voice of hers.

Thanks to big support from Radio 1 over the last few weeks, ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ finally entered the UK single chart top 100 at the weekend, at number 88. Hopefully today’s appearance will push it towards being that bigger hit it so very deserves to be.
