Rebecca & Fiona, the Swedish DJ and popstar duo, are back to the latter aspect of their career. New album ‘Beauty Is Pain’ comes out on April 29th, but before that the lead single ‘Candy Love’ gets a release next week. And this morning the song had its premiere over on Swedish radio station P3.
It’s a step down in tempo for the pair. Less of a rave up, and more of a regimented, pulsing synth track with a big fat bass. Like all Rebecca & Fiona tracks though, it’s the almighty production that plays the biggest part. And this one’s particularly relentless – especially the instrumental outro. Vocal wise, whereas the girls usually sound somewhat stylistically bored, on ‘Candy Love’ there’s actually a hint of emotion from. They sound……upset.
