*Mentalmazing debut single alert*
Swedish bombshell M!ss Me, with the Swedish bombsite ‘Boyz & Girlz’.
Up until now, M!ss Me has primarily been a DJ, living in Stockholm, coming from Linköping originally. Now though, she’s signed to Altitude Music as an artist, and releases ‘Boyz & Girlz’ as her first single, in collaboration with Alen Sami. We don’t really know much else about her, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that we’ve heard the song in full, and it’s enough of a corker to get us very excited about this M!ss Me character (the fact that she spells her name with an exclamation mark, adds to the excitement even more).
‘Boyz & Girlz’ (we would have preferred ‘Boys & G!rls’, personally) is a supremely catchy dancepop track. More chant-along than sing-song, and on the favourable side of being a mental rave-up. It’s like a dance music variation on Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It’, but a lot trashier. Whereas those two sound like the peak time hour of a hipster basement party, M!ss Me is more closing time at a Swedish student disco, blue and green alcopops ahoy. It’s superbly trashy, which we love.
Today, she gives Scandipop readers a preview of ‘Boyz & Girlz’. Listen;
