Norwegian up-and-coming pop chap MO has today released his new single ‘Give It To Me’. And it’s the kind of single release that when you hear it, it suddenly all makes sense that THIS is the PROPER arrival of a popstar. So that’s quite good for him isn’t it? All that’s gone before – the post X Factor single, the Melodi Grand Prix single – that all pales in comparison to this.
‘Give It To Me’ is a really cleverly produced track that blends a bit of r&b, a bit of soul, a bit of pop – and puts a late 80s and early 90s gloss over it. The vocal and the production each go off on their own tangents and could both steal the limelight if they really really wanted to, but instead they complement each other perfectly, live together harmoniously, and share the spotlight equally.
A Michael Jackson comparison sounds both OTT and actually really obvious at the same time. But that’s what we’ve got here readers, and so there you go. And also – quite topically – hello there slight flavours of Nico & Vinz.
‘Give It To Me’ was written and produced by MO along with Donkeyboy.
