Norwegian poplet Marit Larsen has returned with a new single, ’Coming Home’ – the first to be taken from her forthcoming album ‘Spark’.
Fans of good pop music will be heartened to hear that ‘Coming Home’ is a good pop song. Guitar based, but that guitar is soon joined by pop noise aplenty for the song’s joyous and feelgood chorus. It’s about Marit’s sweet confession that looking into her partner’s eyes feels like “coming home” – and so the song is similarly blissful in its open hearted affirmation. You can practically see the smile on Marit’s face and feel the warmth in her voice when she’s singing that chorus.
This return re-establishes Marit into her rightful place within Norway’s holy trinity of guitar pop ladies – herself, Maria Mena, and Marion Raven.
The ‘Spark’ album is released in the lucky Nordic countries on November 18th.
