Meet and greet a mental but marvellous new track that’s just been released in Sweden.
Courtesy of Lovisa Negga, it’s ‘Höj Musiken’ a bizarrely enjoyable piece of pop music that we’ve been spinning rather a lot this weekend. It’s perplexingly simple, and we think that it’s this juxtaposition that makes it so addictive. Lovisa’s laidback interpretation of the lyrics also helps somewhat in taking it all in.
Comparisons to Alina Devecerski’s ‘Flytta På Dej’ are somewhat inevitable, and not without merit either. Swedish language, a musical nod to the not so distant past, a semi nonchalant chanty vocal, and an overall first impression of WTF that quickly turns into a “yeah this is quite good actually“.
The single has been released on iTunes worldwide. And its b-side ‘I’m Just Me‘ is equally as bonkersly brill.
