Last week we wrote about a track which was pretty much changing our lives – the Young Galaxy remix of Johan Agebjörn’s ‘Watch The World Go By’. Well just as our lives were getting back to some form of passable order, another song has come along from Johan’s new album and caught our attention – and this time it features the sublime vocal trillings of practically legendary Swedish singing lady, Sally Shapiro.
It’s the title track from his album, ‘Casablanca Nights’. Much more up-tempo than ‘Watch The World Go By’, and veering very much into eighties electro territory. Melancholic lyrics, frivolous vocal melodies, and dramatic music melodies, all merge together to create a unique, yet charming combination electro-lite, disco tears – an image of neon mascara running down a face, while the person is asleep and dreaming. It’s quite the beauty!
