Making a return to the music release schedules this year is schlager veteran (by achievements, rather than by age – as you can see from the image above) Jessica Andersson. And she dropped by Bingolotto a couple of weeks back (it’s the done thing right now – see also Erik Hassle and Shirley Clamp from yesterday) to premiere some brand new music. She performed ‘Ge Inte Upp’.
Kudos to Jessica for leaving the ballads behind (for now at least), despite being very successful with them, and instead introducing her big comeback with an up-tempo pop number. ‘Ge Inte Upp’ is a rousing, uplifting pop song with several shades of schlager, and a few hints of rock. It’s immensely catchy, and it’s got one of those anthemic choruses. One which lends itself very well to a key change – which she takes on with all the gusto you’d expect from an artist of her caliber.
It’s fantastic to see our Jessica basking comfortably in the glow of a big key change once again.
