What heartening news it is that Jenny Silver’s Swedish record label isn’t letting her monster schlager hit from this year rest in peace just yet. They’ve gone and commissioned UK remix team, Club Junkies, to produce a mix of ‘Something In Your Eyes’.
Club Junkies have recently been heard on remixes for the likes of JLS, Nicole Scherzinger, Kylie Minogue, and Taio Cruz. Plus they’re also seasoned pros at remixing some of our favourite scandipop stars in the past – having turned their hands to September, Alcazar, and most recently, Danny & Freja. So we had high hopes when we heard that A) a club mix was being made of ‘Something In Your Eyes’, and B) that these guys would be at the helm.
And the result?!….
Well C’MON – it’s ‘Something In Your Eyes’, THE best pure schlager song to be released so far this year, and it’s been given a camp dancefloor makeover. Of course we bloody love it! It gives us heart palpitations and makes us sweat glitter. It’s brilliant. End. Of.
In other Club Junkies and Jenny Silver news, they have also hinted that they will more than likely be working on some new music for Jenny in the future. And after listening to the below, the mind truly boggles at what might be to come. As for why the remix was commissioned, we don’t quite know – was it just for Swedish release or are they looking further afield. Regardless, it’s here to be enjoyed, and enjoying we are.
Even more amazingly, someone has painstakingly synced her Melodifestivalen performance of the song, to the radio edit of the remix. So enjoyment levels are ramped up even further.
