Finnish electro music! Meet Jannika B and her new single ‘Onnenpäivä’ (Lucky Day).
This one sounds a little warmer than the usual stark tunage from your standard Scandinavian ice electro siren. It’s as heavy in instrumentation as it is in synths, and as a result veers someway towards pop and a little way towards rock. Either way it’s a compelling production that makes for a great song.
We don’t know too much about this Jannika B lady. Other than the fact she appeared on Finnish Idol in 2007, and that this seems to be her debut single. But we’ve been listening to it quite a lot since it was sent our way last week. And the Finns seem to be quite enjoying it too – it’s been doing quite well on their radio airplay chart of late.
